A wholesale energy business got a phased, fundable roadmap to one trusted source of trading information.
Front, mid, and back office were making decisions off disconnected sources. Leadership needed a roadmap to a single, quality-controlled view of trading information — not another point tool. We assessed the current state and sequenced the path, de-risked with a proof of concept.
Challenge
Decision-making, risk reporting, and profitability analysis — realized and unrealized, across front, mid, and back office — were spread across disconnected sources that did not agree. Leadership wanted a single, integrated, quality- controlled source of trading information spanning load, generation, transmission, transportation, and risk, refreshed daily. What they did not want was another point tool bolted onto the pile.
Approach
We assessed the current state against how the trading business actually runs, then laid out a phased implementation roadmap toward a centralized, verified trading- information repository with the tooling to analyze it — sequenced so each phase proved value and funded the next. A proof of concept validated the approach before anyone committed to a full build.
Technology
A vendor-neutral target-state architecture for a centralized trading-information repository spanning forecast and historical data — verified and quality-controlled — with the analysis tooling to make it useful to front, mid, and back office.
Outcome
Leadership got a fundable, sequenced roadmap grounded in real business processes, de-risked by a working proof of concept — the difference between a program the board will fund and a big-bang build that asks for faith.
